Becoming a Chef

In a recent survey, 25 percent of professional chefs said they changed careers to become a chef, 63 percent said they  began their chef career as an apprentice chef and 58 percent said they attended a culinary art school.

Industry Growth: according to Newsweek (July 7, 1997) the culinary arts industry is expected to add 3 million new culinary positions by 2005.
